New Version Release of Technical Bulletin No. 5

Treating the quality of stormwater from  ultra-urban areas can be challenging, but is also a key strategy to reduce pollutant loadings to the Chesapeake Bay.  CSN has drafted new guidance on the unique stormwater design approach that is needed to solve stormwater problems at redevelopment sites. The 70 page bulletin provides design criteria for the innovative stormwater practices that are most preferred in the city, including green streets. The bulletin also contains recommendations for setting up a local stormwater offset program in situations where full compliance with redevelopment stormwater performance standards is not possible.  In addition, the bulletin shows how to calculate nutrient removal credits at redevelopment sites that meet stringent stormwater standards.
